Mental Health and Wellbeing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader to join our team at Strathfieldsaye Primary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing, supporting teachers and staff to embed evidence-based mental health strategies, and collaborating with school leadership and wellbeing teams to embed whole-school approaches to mental health into school planning and strategic processes.
Key Responsibilities- Promote a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing to students, staff, and families.
- Support teachers and staff to expand their capacity to embed evidence-based mental health strategies, interventions, and programs.
- Collaborate with school leadership and wellbeing teams to inform, influence, and provide input into teaching and learning relating to mental health and wellbeing.
- Work with school leadership and wellbeing teams to establish clear referral pathways internally and externally for students identified as requiring further assessment and intervention.
- Proactively work with and support regional staff, school wellbeing and leadership teams, teachers, parents, and other external agencies to coordinate targeted mental health support for primary school students.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health and wellbeing, with experience in promoting whole-school approaches to mental health and wellbeing. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and external agencies.
