Operational Desk Analyst Role

This position involves contributing to the day-to-day running of the trading desks at Susquehanna. Key responsibilities include:

  • Position reconciliations to ensure trades are captured efficiently and accurately.
  • Collaborating with experienced traders in the financial sector.

The successful candidate will require an understanding of financial instruments, especially equities, futures, and equity derivatives. Strong working relationships with traders are essential.

Key Responsibilities

This role entails:

  • Compiling and reconciling trade, transactions, and positions.
  • Preparing and submitting creation and redemption instructions for proprietary trading.
  • Maintaining accurate position, P&L, and information exchange.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance through operational process management.
  • Utilizing algorithmic trading tools under trader instruction.
  • Updating and managing exchange trading systems, proprietary trading applications, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Acting as a liaison between desk traders and internal departments.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 4+ years' experience in the financial markets arena.
  • Operational knowledge of Asian Financial markets.
  • In-depth knowledge of ETF life cycles, handling trade flow through to settlement.
  • Thorough understanding of equity and specifically ETF products.
  • Working knowledge of corporate actions, including booking and PnL impact.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg and Excel.
  • Strong ability to build positive relationships internally and with broker contacts.
  • Ability to promote new ideas and solutions.
  • Confidence in escalating issues and driving changes.
