Job Overview

The Financial Operations Specialist will play a vital role in handling daily accounting tasks, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records. This individual will work closely with senior accountants to ensure seamless month-end closings, reconcile accounts, support audits, and provide financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Accounting Tasks: Record financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Reconciliation and Reporting: Regularly reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts to guarantee financial accuracy.
  • Expense Management: Process invoices, payments, and receipts; follow up on outstanding invoices with clients and vendors as necessary.
  • Employee Expenses: Manage employee expense reports, verifying and categorizing expenses for accurate financial reporting.
  • Financial Close Activities: Support monthly and yearly financial close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliation.
  • Audit Support: Assist in preparing financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements under the guidance of senior accountants.
  • Documentation and Data Collection: Gather documentation and data needed for audits and assist in responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Accounting System Management: Enter financial data into the accounting system and conduct routine reviews to identify discrepancies.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Xero or Quickbooks, as well as other accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, general ledger functions).
  • Strong attention to detail, with high accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and work methodically to resolve issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

This role offers a competitive salary range of $60,000-$80,000 per annum, depending on experience. It's a Monday to Thursday position with 3-4 days in our new offices in Green Square. If you're passionate about finance and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, please submit your application.
