Upgrade Windows 10 AVDs to Windows 11 Engineer

We are seeking an experienced engineer or technical project coordinator to assist with upgrading our Windows 10 AVDs to Windows 11 over a 6-month period on a day rate.

The role involves upgrading several thousand AVD users through in-place upgrades and new builds, including identifying machine AD group memberships, building machines, liaising with users, tracking progress, and providing updates.

  • Plan, track, and report progress to management
  • Engage vendors, script, or use migration tools creatively
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and users to ensure smooth migration
  • Assist with change management and prepare change requests
  • Maintain an issues register, identify risks and issues impacting the project

Responsibilities:

  • Identify machine AD group memberships for seamless upgrade
  • Build and deploy new machines as required
  • Liaise with users to ensure minimal disruption
  • Track and report progress to management

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar environment
  • Ability to manage timelines, track progress, and coordinate team efforts
  • Strong communication skills, including written updates
  • Experience deploying applications with SCCM or similar tools (preferred)
  • PowerShell scripting experience (favorable)
  • Experience with AVD, VMware, or similar (preferred)
  • Solid support background in Windows 10 desktop OS
  • Ability to perform bare-metal builds using SCCM, Intune, or similar
  • Facilitation and presentation skills
  • Willingness to learn and a positive attitude
