Job Description

Peninsula Health is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the Project Officer role within their Surgical Services department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and overseeing the Day Surgery Maximisation project. This will involve process improvement and pathway redesign to reliably deliver day surgery as default for accepted procedures and then expand this to new procedures and cohorts.

The Project Officer will work closely with key stakeholders to facilitate a collaborative partnership approach, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinating and implementing the Day Surgery Maximisation project
  • Setting up and attending regular meetings between relevant individuals representing aspects of the project
  • Preparing agendas, writing minutes, and meeting deadlines for meeting requirements
  • Setting achievable timelines to ensure projects reach targets and milestones
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Current registration with the National Registration Board (AHPRA) for registered professions or eligibility for membership of relevant professional associations for non-registered professions
  • Program and project coordination and management skills
  • Sound organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to manage and lead change, motivate individuals and groups to achieve commonly held goals
