Developing Novel Treatments for Brain Cancer
2 days ago
The successful candidate will join our multidisciplinary team in designing, generating, and optimizing novel antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) targeting Eph receptors. This project offers an exceptional opportunity to work at the forefront of translational cancer research and advance therapeutic strategies towards translation.
About the RoleThis fully funded PhD position provides a unique chance to work with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, including patient-derived cell lines, organoid models, and in vivo preclinical testing. The role involves:
- Contributing to the design, generation, and optimization of novel ADCs and existing in-house antibodies;
- Evaluating candidate ADCs through molecular and cell biology approaches;
- Undertaking in vivo preclinical testing of ADCs in relevant brain cancer models to assess efficacy and safety;
- Analysing, interpreting, and communicating experimental data; and
- Collaborating closely with researchers and clinicians to advance therapeutic strategies.
Key RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will have:
- A completed Honours or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Science, Pharmacology, or a related field;
- Strong laboratory skills in cell and molecular biology, including cell culture, cloning, flow cytometry, microscopy, Western blotting, or related techniques;
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret experimental data;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
- A genuine interest in translational cancer research and developing novel therapeutic strategies.
What We OfferThis role provides:
- State-of-the-art facilities and resources;
- A stimulating work setting focused on cutting-edge medical research;
- A supportive and collaborative team environment.
How to ApplyTo submit an application, please use the APPLY button. All applicants must supply a resume and cover letter addressing the selection criteria outlined above. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a valid work permit or visa. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.
