Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Fellow to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative therapeutic strategies for brain cancer. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary research group focusing on the identification and validation of novel targets for brain cancer treatment.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Designing, generating, and optimizing novel antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and existing in-house antibodies.
- Evaluating candidate ADCs using molecular and cell biology approaches, including patient-derived cell lines and organoid models.
- Conducting in vivo preclinical testing of ADCs in relevant brain cancer models to assess efficacy and safety.
- Analysing, interpreting, and communicating experimental data to contribute to publications and conference presentations.
- Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians to advance therapeutic strategies towards translation.
- A completed Honours or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Science, Pharmacology, or a related field.
- Strong laboratory skills in cell and molecular biology, including cell culture, cloning, flow cytometry, microscopy, Western blotting, or related techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex experimental data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine interest in translational cancer research and developing novel therapeutic strategies.
- Previous experience with in vivo animal work and organoid culture will be considered an advantage.
This is a fixed-term scholarship opportunity for 3 years and 6 months, providing a stipend of $36,400 per annum (tax-free, indexed annually). Applicants must be Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or hold a valid work permit or visa.
