Job Title
Community Outreach Librarian - Mobile Library Services

We are seeking a qualified Community Outreach Librarian to lead our Mobile Library team and engage with the community through mobile library services.


About the Role
  • Develop and deliver high-quality customer and library services, supervising staff and working collaboratively with the library team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service through the mobile library and other tier 3 library services.
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Mobile Library in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Deliver high-quality customer and library services, including lending, information, reader services, programs, technology, and equipment, and collection arrangements.
  • Supervise, lead, and develop staff in the delivery of customer-focused, innovative, and contemporary public library services.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent qualification recognized by the relevant professional association.
  • Eligibility for professional membership of a relevant association.
  • Suitable library experience.
  • Current class C driver's license.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Experience in community engagement, communications, and marketing.
  • Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and independently.
  • Demonstrated skills in team leadership and staff supervision.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Proven excellent computer skills, including experience in the use of online resources, library management systems, and library apps.
