Counsellor Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Counsellor to join our team in Launceston, Tasmania. This is a fixed term part-time position available to support services across North and North West Tasmania.
The successful applicant will provide specialist clinical, support, and advocacy services to individuals impacted by sexual assault and their support systems. They may also participate in outreach services and educational program delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in counselling, social work, psychology, or equivalent qualification. You will also have experience in trauma-informed counselling and working with adults, young people, and/or children who have been impacted by sexual assault and violence.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in counselling, social work, psychology, or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the impacts and dynamics of sexual assault and experience in trauma-informed counselling.
- Experience working with and counselling adults, young people, and/or children who have been impacted by sexual assault and violence.
- Demonstrates experience in crisis intervention, including the ability to effectively intervene, prioritise and manage crisis situations.
- A commitment to inclusive practice and proven capacity to meet the diverse needs of clients.
