
Leading Correctional Services Manager

The role of General Manager at Tarrengower Prison involves leading and managing the delivery of correctional services to achieve safe custody, welfare, and rehabilitation of prisoners.
Key responsibilities include fostering a safe and supportive culture, developing a structured day for prisoners, and addressing their individual risks and needs through the Offender Management Framework.
The General Manager will lead all disciplines within the prison to achieve business objectives and performance benchmarks. They will also drive the prison towards achieving its vision and direction in line with the Corrections Act 1986 and the Corrections Regulations 2019.
About This Role- Foster a safe and respectful culture that includes all staff and prisoners.
- Drive the prison to achieve Corrections Victoria's mission to provide safe, secure, humane, and cost-effective correctional services to prisoners and offenders.
- Develop and manage all aspects of the strategic and day-to-day operations of a prison, ensuring a gender-responsive and Trauma Informed Practice environment.
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive leadership experience managing people and developing a safe and supportive culture. You will also need to direct, oversee, and manage daily business activities, develop and implement effective business strategies, and provide leadership within a highly complex secure environment.
Requirements And Qualifications- A qualification in Business Management/Human Resource related discipline or commensurate experience.
- A full and current Victorian driver's licence or a minimum P2 driver's licence.
This is an ongoing, full-time opportunity.
You will be required to undergo pre-employment checks, including a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) and misconduct screening.
