Role Overview

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to utilize their skills and experience in health and safety management, with a strong emphasis on risk assessment, audit, and training. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to ensure the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across all projects.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety plans to minimize risks and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, audits, task observations, and safety investigations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation as per Federal Safety Accreditation and ISO Accreditation requirements.
  • Evaluate and enforce adherence to relevant legislation, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Provide expert training and support to team members, promoting a culture of safety awareness and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with employees and stakeholders, fostering open communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • A minimum 5 years' experience in WH&S on TMR road infrastructure projects, including conducting related audits.
  • A strong understanding of current OH&S legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Experience working on road construction projects in rural environments, with the ability to adapt to diverse settings.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing pressure.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with colleagues, managers, and external stakeholders.
  • A qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
Working Conditions

The proposed hours of work are approximately 36-45 hours per week, with flexibility to adjust based on project demands. Longer hours and weekend work may be required to meet workload needs. The role is based in Logan Region / QLD, and preference will be given to candidates who reside within a reasonable commuting distance from Jimboomba.

Essential Requirements
  • A valid driver's license and the right to work in Australia.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and consultative skills.
