Welcome to the Child Safety Officer role at the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs. We are currently seeking permanent PO2 Child Safety Officers to join our Ipswich Child Safety Service Centres.

About the Role

As a Child Safety Officer, you will be responsible for delivering statutory child protection services, including assessment, intervention, casework, and case management. You will work in teams, often multi-disciplinary, based in CSSC covering specific geographical areas across Queensland.

You will have the opportunity to work together with people, partners, and places to support children, young people, and families to be safe and thrive in culture and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver statutory child protection services, including assessment, intervention, casework, and case management
  • Work in teams, often multi-disciplinary, based in CSSC covering specific geographical areas across Queensland
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and community members
