Delivering Spiritual Support to Elderly Individuals

">Job Description

As a volunteer in our pastoral care program, you will have the opportunity to provide emotional and spiritual support to elderly individuals living in their homes. You will be working closely with a local Christian church in the Newcastle and wider Hunter area.

The role involves visiting residents at home on a regular basis, providing companionship, emotional support, and spiritual guidance. You will work under the direction of our Pastoral Care Coordinator and may assist with various tasks such as:

  • Supporting individuals to meet their spiritual needs
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills
  • Pastoral care training or experience (e.g. Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education)
