Support the Spiritual Needs of Elderly People
This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of elderly individuals by providing pastoral care and support.
As a Pastoral Care Volunteer, you will be working closely with a local Christian church in the Newcastle and wider Hunter area.
- Provide companionship and friendship to residents.
- Support people to meet their spiritual needs.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have high level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills. While pastoral care training is desirable, it is not essential as we offer training and ongoing support to help you become a skilled pastoral care volunteer.
You will visit residents in their homes on a regular basis, which could be weekly or fortnightly depending on your availability. We would prefer visits to take place between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
