Senior Workplace Relations Specialist

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Workplace Relations Advisor to join our central Workplace Relations team at Metcash. As a key member of our team, you will provide specialist Employee and Industrial Relations support to leaders across Metcash, influencing, coaching, and mentoring to drive business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end case management of employee relations cases, including performance management, misconduct, grievances, absence management, and investigations.
- Build leadership capability by guiding, mentoring, and coaching Team Leaders on all employee relations cases, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to manage complex cases.
- Provide commercially sound ER and IR advice to business leaders, ensuring alignment with operational and strategic business priorities.
- Respond to Industrial Relations queries, including EA interpretation matters, and assist with EA negotiations for smaller operations.
- Work with the Safety team to ensure policy and procedures are in place and adhered to.
- Assist with project work on an ad hoc basis.
Requirements
- Circa 5+ years broad HR/People & Culture experience, with specialisation in Employee and/or Industrial Relations.
- Experience within a fast-paced commercial environment, preferably with a blue-collar or frontline workforce.
- Previous involvement and interest in EA negotiations is highly regarded.
- Proven ability to work through complex employee relations cases, with strong negotiation, coaching, and influencing skills.
- Experience working across and influencing stakeholders within a range of levels across an organisation.
- Track record in developing strong relationships internally, externally, and across various business units.
