About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Workplace Relations Advisor to join our central Workplace Relations team at Metcash. This role will provide specialist Employee and Industrial Relations support to leaders across the organization through influencing, coaching, and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end case management of employee relations cases, including performance management, misconduct, grievances, absence management, and investigations.
  • Build leadership capability by guiding, mentoring, and coaching Team Leaders on all employee relations cases.
  • Provide commercially sound ER and IR advice to business leaders on operational and strategic priorities.
  • Respond to Industrial Relations queries, including EA interpretation matters.
  • Assist with EA negotiations for smaller operations.
  • Work with the Safety team to ensure policy and procedures are in place and adhered to.
  • Assist with project work on an ad-hoc basis.

Requirements

  • Circa 5+ years of broad HR/People & Culture experience, with specialization in Employee and/or Industrial Relations.
  • Experience within a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Experience with blue-collar / frontline / logistics workforce essential.
  • Previous involvement and an interest in EA negotiations highly regarded.
  • Proven ability to work through end-to-end complex employee relations cases.
  • Strong negotiation, coaching, and influencing skills.
  • Experience working across and effectively influencing stakeholders within a range of levels across an organization.
  • Track record in developing strong relationships internally, externally, and across various business units.
