About the Role:

As a Civil Labourer at Davies Stewart, you will be responsible for assisting in various construction and civil infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a motivated and reliable individual who can work effectively as part of a team to ensure high-quality results.

  • This temporary position offers an initial 3-month assignment with potential to transition into a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will report directly to the Work Group Leader Civil Construction.
  • Your duties will include supporting civil maintenance and construction operations.
  • Maintaining safe working practices is crucial in this role.
  • You must demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences in all community interactions.
  • Work on construction programs and projects according to council standards and specifications in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Assist the Civil Structures team with minor repairs and works to built civil infrastructure, including street furniture.
  • You will operate a medium-sized motor vehicle (single axle truck).
  • Removal of litter and hazardous objects from road reserves and open space areas to provide a safe environment for the community.
  • Maintain equipment in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition, adhering to recommended operating practices, including a daily pre-start safety checklist.
  • Erect temporary signage and traffic control associated with municipal maintenance and construction works, following Australian Standards and client policies.
  • Adequately manage corporate records and documentation according to client policies, procedures, and legislation.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of AU$60,000 - AU$80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits may include professional development opportunities, flexible working hours, and a supportive team environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction (desirable)
  • Demonstrated competence in all local work team activities
  • Driver's license - minimum MR
  • Current National Police Clearance Certificate
  • Work Zone Traffic Management Certificate (desirable)
  • General plant and equipment qualifications (desirable)
  • Demonstrated competence in manual work
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality customer experiences
  • Able to work independently
