About the Role

The Sustainability discipline within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences is a thriving teaching and research hub that contributes to Murdoch University's Strategic Theme of Sustainability.

As part of this theme, the Just Transitions and Critical Minerals Project is an exciting new initiative established in collaboration between Murdoch University and the Mineral Policy Institute (MPI).

The project focuses on how energy transition materials required for local and global energy transitions can be accessed, processed, utilized, and distributed in a just, equitable, and sustainable manner.

Your New Responsibilities

You will undertake activities relating to the above project, supporting the Chief Investigator, associated researchers, and the MU-MPI collaboration.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting high-quality research in support of the project
  • Preparing research outputs tailored to diverse audiences
  • Contributing to stakeholder engagement activities
  • Undertaking collaborative research on key thematic areas, including technospheric mining, critical minerals in Western Australia, and the ethics of a critical minerals-powered energy transition
