Electron Microprobe Specialist Role
We are seeking a skilled Electron Microprobe Specialist to contribute to the success of our geoscience research community. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class microscopy facility and play a key role in supporting academic staff, technical staff, students and external stakeholders with their research pursuits.
The successful applicant will work independently to manage the physical resources and operations of the electron microprobe capability, providing expert knowledge and support in all aspects of electron microscopy workflows.
- Manage the electron microprobe capability, including sample preparation, data acquisition and analysis
- Provide training, advice and support in electron microprobe techniques and applications
- Contribute to the development of new methods and techniques for electron microscopy
- Collaborate with researchers to design and implement experiments using the electron microprobe
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
- Advanced knowledge of electron microprobe workflows and applications within research, particularly in the geosciences
- Technical expertise in sample preparation relevant to electron microprobe
- Demonstrated ability to engage and support diverse research programs
- Knowledge of policies and procedures for infrastructure administration and Occupational Health & Safety
