Hope for Recovery and Peer Support

This role is designed for individuals with lived experience of an eating disorder who have sustained recovery. As a Senior Lived Experience Worker, you will provide hope for recovery and peer support to consumers accessing the service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with meal support and social eating outings to foster connections and healthy relationships.
  • Lead group sessions from your own lived experience and co-facilitate other groups as needed to promote collective growth.
  • Provide one-to-one peer support sessions via phone or telehealth to empower individuals in their journey towards recovery.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Personal experience with an eating disorder.
  • Sustained recovery from an eating disorder for at least two years.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a lived experience role or equivalent position, such as a mentor or advocate.
  • Completion of Intentional Peer Support (IPS) Training or a willingness to undertake it.
