A career as an eating disorder specialist at Austin Health offers a chance to be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping children and young people with eating disorders (aged 0-25 years) and their families.

The role involves working closely with the Specialist Eating Disorder Service (SEDS) and community teams, providing clinical eating disorder dietetic assessment, meal and treatment planning, and supporting families involved in treatment within both clinic and outreach settings.

To be successful, you will bring demonstrated clinical expertise in paediatric nutrition and eating disorders, a deep understanding of recovery-focused care, and an ability to work from a strengths-based approach. You will also have effective communication skills and be able to engage with staff in capacity building their skills and knowledge in eating disorders.

As a key member of the Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS), you will contribute to group and education opportunities, including psychoeducation sessions and family work. You will collaborate with staff across SEDS and ICYMHS programs to ensure safe, best-practice care that puts consumers at the heart of decision-making.

This role requires ongoing training and supervision to enhance your skills and stay up-to-date with the latest research and practices in eating disorders.
