Key Responsibilities of a Maintenance Instructor

The role of a maintenance instructor is multifaceted, encompassing both theoretical and practical aspects. Key responsibilities include delivering contracted technical trade training in a theory and practical environment, working as a course manager for the CH47 aircraft, developing training materials through continuous improvement activities, reviewing and amending assessment instruments, and supporting the lead instructor in the CH47 maintenance training facility.

Additionally, the instructor will be responsible for maintaining currency on the aircraft type as a maintainer, as part of continuous improvement efforts.

  • Deliver technical trade training in both theoretical and practical environments
  • Work as a course manager for the CH47 aircraft
  • Develop training materials through continuous improvement activities
  • Review and amend assessment instruments
  • Support the lead instructor in the CH47 maintenance training facility
  • Maintain currency on the aircraft type as a maintainer

To excel in this role, applicants must possess exceptional training and leadership skills, with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a rotary wing B1.3 aviation maintenance tradesperson, aviation supervisor, or aviation maintenance manager. A certificate IV in aeroskills (mechanical) is also a requirement.
