Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Trainee Locomotive Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for developing the skills and knowledge required to operate locomotives hauling rolling stock units on a railway line.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop the skills, knowledge and certifications to operate locomotives hauling rolling stock units on a railway line.
  • Learn how to be a driver that operates the train with due consideration of route conditions.
  • Conduct full train examination and drives the train to operational requirements.

**Requirements:**

  • Trade or certificate of higher education (e.g. TAFE, apprenticeship, university).
  • 5 years' experience in the field trade of certificate or higher education (e.g. fitter, electrician, mechanic etc.).
  • Ability to work shifts and work away from home.
  • Pass pre-employment medical checks including Psychometric safety testing, Category 1 medical/physical and ongoing drug and alcohol screens.
  • Ability to complete a national police clearance.
  • A valid, full drivers' licence.
