We are seeking a Trade Assistant Trainee to join our team and contribute to the delivery of rail and civil infrastructure projects.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in a hands-on environment while studying towards a Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation.
As a trainee, you will work closely with experienced professionals and participate in planned network shutdowns, working before the first and after the last train. You will also assist with track, platform, and facility upgrades, ensuring compliance with all rail safety and environmental standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out labouring tasks including excavation, concrete works, fencing, paving, and vegetation management.
- Maintaining station and corridor presentation through graffiti removal, litter collection, and minor facility repairs.
- Supporting rail maintenance activities through safe operation of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Experience in a maintenance, construction, or civil infrastructure environment is highly desirable.
- Hands-on skills in labouring roles, including the use of tools, plant, and equipment.
- Basic understanding of safety, quality, and environmental compliance in construction or maintenance settings.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks to a high standard.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including night shift and weekends.
