About the Role

This position sits within the Learning K-12 Team, requiring significant experience in curriculum and capacity to support EAL/D students within Primary Schools. The role is part of a wider EAL/D team, and the EAL/D Teacher will collaborate with the School Leadership Team and CEDoW EAL/D Officers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within the school team to implement the EAL/D Management Plan responsibilities.
  • Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities to build teacher capacity.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and respond to the collection of student work samples and assessment data.
  • Support EAL/D students' learning needs through pedagogical processes, including collaborative planning, co-teaching, and student learning plans.

About You

We are seeking an individual who demonstrates a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A well-articulated understanding and application of student-centred, quality EAL/D pedagogical practices grounded in current evidence-based research.
  • The ability to identify EAL/D students' needs and plan for appropriate student support K-6.
  • Expert knowledge of the diverse needs of students of EAL/D to support their full participation in learning.

Qualifications and Experience

We require a Post graduate TESOL qualification and appropriate qualifications for teaching Primary K – 6.

Candidates must also hold Accredited Level B to teach Religious Education and be accredited with NESA to teach in NSW.

We seek individuals with strong interpersonal skills, well-developed oral and written communication skills, and strong organisational skills.
