This role is part of a broader EAL/D team and requires significant experience in curriculum to support EAL/D students within Primary Schools.
- Collaborate with the School Leadership Team and CEDoW EAL/D Officers to drive educational excellence.
- Work with the school team to implement EAL/D Management Plan responsibilities, fostering a culture of inclusivity and diversity.
- Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities to build teacher capacity, promoting student-centered pedagogy.
- Coordinate, facilitate and respond to student work samples and assessment data, informing instruction and driving student growth.
- Support EAL/D students' learning needs through collaborative planning, co-teaching and student learning plans, ensuring full participation in learning.
About You
- Demonstrate commitment to Catholic School mission and purpose, upholding values of compassion and respect.
- Apply student-centred EAL/D pedagogical practices grounded in current research, staying abreast of best practices.
- Identify EAL/D students' needs and plan for support K-6, tailoring instruction to meet diverse needs.
- Use diverse knowledge of EAL/D students to support full participation in learning, celebrating linguistic and cultural diversity.
- Facilitate analysis of student work using ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions or ESL Scales, providing actionable insights.
- Use various assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning, driving instructional decisions.
- Engage professionally with colleagues, parents and the school community, building strong relationships.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post graduate TESOL qualification desirable, enhancing teaching expertise.
- Primary K – 6 teaching qualifications, with a focus on EAL/D education.
- Accredited Level B to teach Religious Education, promoting spiritual growth.
- Accreditation with NESA to teach in NSW, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, with a focus on communication and teamwork.
- Strong organisational skills, with a focus on time management and prioritisation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual support.
