This position is a key member of the Learning K-12 Team, requiring significant experience in curriculum development and the ability to support English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) students within Primary Schools.
The successful applicant will collaborate with the School Leadership Team and EAL/D Officers to implement the EAL/D Management Plan responsibilities, including:
- Designing and facilitating professional learning opportunities to build teacher capacity
- Supporting EAL/D students' learning needs through pedagogical processes, including collaborative planning, co-teaching with classroom teachers, and student learning plans
- Coordinating, facilitating, and responding to the collection of student work samples and assessment data
The ideal candidate will have:
- A deep understanding of student-centred, quality EAL/D pedagogical practices grounded in current evidence-based research
- A post graduate TESOL qualification (desirable)
- Appropriate qualifications for teaching Primary K – 6
- NESA accreditation to teach in NSW
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to the mission and purpose of Catholic Schools within the broader Catholic Church.
A well-articulated understanding and application of student-centred, quality EAL/D pedagogical practices are essential.
Working RequirementsThis role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check is required prior to employment.
