The Project Geologist Role
  • We are seeking an experienced Project Geologist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Formulating conceptual models using mineral systems concepts, knowledge of Eastern Goldfields tectono-thermal history, and gold mineralisation analogues.
  • Testing conceptual models through generating hypotheses and collecting data.
  • Determining scale-relevant data for selecting appropriate prospectivity criteria.
  • Compiling and evaluating geoscientific data, including surface and drilling samples, remote sensing, geophysical, and geochemical data.
  • Integrating data to form geology maps combining regolith, stratigraphy, structure, and alteration.
  • Participating in target ranking workshops and populating the exploration pipeline.
  • Collaborating with senior geologists to deliver geological assessments, targeting, ranking, and program proposals.
  • Planning and executing project work and field programs, meeting reporting requirements.
  • Assisting with day-to-day management of drill contractors, monitoring rig sampling practices, and ensuring diamond core, RC, and RAB sampling meet company standards.
  • Ensuring timely completion of concise geological and departmental reports.
  • Assisting in managing human resources during exploration and resource drilling programs.
  • Mentoring geologists and technicians to ensure activities meet high technical standards.
About You

To be considered, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an exploration role.
  • Skills in GIS software, preferably QGIS, Leapfrog, with exposure to geostatistical packages.
  • Understanding of Eastern Goldfields geology and Archaean gold lode systems.
  • Experience in initiating and testing novel geological theories.
  • Solid knowledge of exploration concepts and techniques.
  • Understanding of mining and exploration tenements, administration, and OHS&E.
  • Concise report writing and geological documentation skills.
  • Class C WA manual driver's licence.
