Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Geological Exploration Specialist to join our team. This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a strong understanding of geological principles and concepts.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating conceptual models, testing hypotheses, and integrating geoscientific data to identify potential exploration targets. They will also be involved in target ranking workshops and will work closely with the Senior Exploration Geologist to deliver peer-reviewed geological assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement exploration strategies based on geological data and analysis
  • Analyze and interpret geophysical and geochemical data to identify potential mineralization
  • Conduct fieldwork and sampling programs to collect and analyze geological samples
  • Compile and evaluate geological data to identify trends and patterns
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through reports and presentations
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an exploration role
  • Skilled in GIS software, preferably QGIS, Leapfrog, with exposure to exploration geostatistical packages
  • Understanding of Eastern Goldfields geology and Archaean gold lode systems
  • Demonstrable experience in initiating and testing novel geological theories
  • Solid knowledge of exploration concepts and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
