Position: Registered Manager for Children's Home with Learning Disabilities
Overview:
As the Registered Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the children's home, ensuring that each young person receives the care and support they need to thrive. Your focus will be on fostering independence and helping them achieve their full potential while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
Your leadership will set the tone for the staff and the young residents, allowing you to shape the service according to your values and professional approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the care of 1-2 children with learning disabilities in a residential setting.
- Engage with children to build strong relationships and provide exemplary role modeling.
- Lead and mentor a dedicated team of staff, ensuring they receive the necessary support and training.
- Offer emotional guidance and support to the children.
- Manage tasks such as developing care plans, coordinating referrals, and liaising with social workers and families.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Document support efforts and focus on achieving positive outcomes for the children.
- Effectively de-escalate challenging behaviors.
- Collaborate with the team and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
Qualifications:
- Possess a compassionate and open-minded disposition, with a willingness to be on call.
- Recognize that this role extends beyond standard working hours.
- Experience working with learning disabilities and adverse childhood experiences.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a residential children's environment within the last 5 years.
- Familiarity with Ofsted requirements and standards.
- Experience with conducting interviews and managing registrations is preferred.
- Hold a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care Management and Leadership.
- Ideally possess a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare.
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed-term contract
Compensation: £50,000 - £60,000 per year
