Position: Registered Manager for Children's Home with Learning Disabilities

Overview:
As the Registered Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the residential home, ensuring that young individuals receive the care and support they need to thrive. Your focus will be on fostering independence and helping each child achieve their fullest potential while prioritizing their safety and well-being.

Your leadership will set the tone for the home, establishing high standards for both staff and residents. This role offers the opportunity to shape the service according to your values and professional approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing the care of 1-2 children with learning disabilities in a residential setting.
  2. Building strong relationships with children, serving as a role model and mentor.
  3. Leading a dedicated team, ensuring they receive appropriate support and training.
  4. Providing emotional and psychological support to the children.
  5. Managing administrative tasks such as care plan development, referral organization, staff oversight, and communication with social workers and families.
  6. Implementing safeguarding policies and procedures effectively.
  7. Documenting support efforts and focusing on achieving positive outcomes for the children.
  8. Addressing and de-escalating challenging behaviors.
  9. Collaborating with team members and delegating tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

  1. A compassionate and open-minded disposition, with a willingness to be on call.
  2. A recognition that this role extends beyond standard working hours.
  3. Experience working with learning disabilities and adverse childhood experiences.
  4. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a residential children's environment within the last 5 years.
  5. Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and standards.
  6. Experience in conducting interviews and managing registrations is preferred.
  7. Possession of a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care Management and Leadership.
  8. Ideally, a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare.

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed-term contract

Compensation: £50,000 - £60,000 annually
