OFSTED Registered Manager for Children's Home with Learning Disabilities
Position Overview:
As the Registered Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the residential home, ensuring that young individuals receive the care and support they need to thrive. Your primary focus will be on fostering independence and helping each child achieve their fullest potential. You will create a safe and nurturing environment that prioritizes the well-being of every child.
Your leadership will set the tone for the home, establishing high standards for both staff and residents. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the service according to your values and management style.
We seek a dedicated professional who is ready to take charge and demonstrate expertise in managing children's homes. A balanced approach of firmness and fairness is essential. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional care to our young residents and will also prioritize the development and training of the staff team, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the care of 1-2 children with learning disabilities in a residential setting.
- Building strong relationships with children, serving as a role model and mentor.
- Leading a skilled team, ensuring they receive adequate support and training.
- Providing emotional guidance and support to residents.
- Managing administrative tasks such as care plan development, referrals, staff management, and communication with social workers and families.
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Documenting support efforts and striving for positive outcomes for the children.
- Effectively de-escalating challenging behaviors.
- Collaborating with team members and delegating tasks appropriately.
Qualifications:
- A compassionate and open-minded approach, with a willingness to be on call.
- A recognition that this role extends beyond standard working hours.
- Experience with learning disabilities and adverse childhood experiences.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a residential children's environment within the last 5 years.
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and requirements.
- Experience in conducting interviews and managing registrations is preferred.
- Possession of a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care Management and Leadership.
- Ideally, a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare.
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed-term contract
Compensation: £50,000 - £60,000 per year
