Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, professional and confidential support to the Chief Executive and the Executive Team. This role is intended as a key development opportunity for aspiring leaders, with a strategic and operational focus to enable the Chief Executive and Executive Team to support Ambulance Tasmania in all aspects of service delivery.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Researching and preparing briefings, ministerial correspondence and responses to sensitive or confidential business and operational issues, submissions and replies to correspondence as required.
  • Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders on a broad range of operational and business issues impacting on the Chief Executive and Executive teams' responsibilities.
  • Attending meetings with the Chief Executive and/or Executive team members, or in the place of the Chief Executive or Executive Team Members as required, including chairing meetings where necessary.
  • Actively participating in and contributing to the organisation's Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.
Details of Appointment

This is a fixed term, full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 September 2026. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to negotiate their hours with the employer.

This selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies for a period of twelve months from the date of publication.

Benefits

The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary of $150,796 per annum, plus a 11.5% superannuation contribution. They will also have access to salary packaging options, including living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment up to $2,650 per FBT year.

In addition to these benefits, the successful applicant will have access to a range of leave entitlements, including study leave and professional development support. They will also be eligible for fitness passport membership, allowing them to access over 40 fitness facilities across Tasmania for a weekly fee.
