About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Officer to join our team at YMCA Whittlesea. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities, providing a safe and welcoming environment for our staff, clients, and community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute routine and corrective maintenance tasks across all areas of the facility, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Address maintenance issues promptly, prioritizing those impacting service delivery, and maintain clear communication with staff.
  • Implement and monitor health and safety protocols, ensuring all tasks adhere to regulations.
  • Coordinate with external contractors to ensure efficient and effective maintenance services.
Requirements
  • Qualified tradesman in any of the following fields – Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter, Building, Air-conditioning or Painting.
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Have or be able to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Check (dated in the last 6 months).
  • A motivated, team player with great communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to daily maintenance duties.
  • Excellent planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement maintenance plans, schedules, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Manage the maintenance budget, effectively optimising resource allocation and cost control.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
