About the Role

The facilities management specialist will ensure the efficient and effective functioning of restaurants, providing a safe working environment for all staff members. This involves managing resources, services, and processes in a cost-efficient manner.

The role is responsible for maintaining and managing facilities for restaurants and providing recommendations as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review and transform facility strategy, including repairs and maintenance (R&M), preventative maintenance (PM) and relevant life-cycle requirements.
  2. Analyse facilities management data, systems and processes, and provide recommendations to enhance efficiency.
  3. Maintain an effective R&M reporting system to support restaurant R&M needs.
  4. Lead routine facilities inspections to identify issues and maintenance needs.
  5. Ensure timely maintenance and repair of key restaurant equipment, fixtures, and fittings.
  6. Develop and review contracts with supplier partners.
  7. Plan and manage centralised contracts, including refrigeration, HVAC systems, pest control, security, Test and Tag, fire services, and information technology.
  8. Advise on and implement environmental initiatives, such as waste management and energy efficiency.
Requirements
  1. Extensive experience in facilities management, preferably within the food/restaurant sector.
  2. Experience in developing or transforming a facilities management function.
  3. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
  4. Demonstrated project management skills, ideally in construction or maintenance.
  5. Ability to read and interpret leases and contracts.
  6. Tertiary qualifications preferred.
  7. Working knowledge of HVAC technology and systems within restaurants.
  8. Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
