Principal Planner Role

As a Principal Planner, you will contribute to business goals by providing professional planning and resource management advice. You will be a key member of our project teams, working independently on projects and contributing to their success.
  • You will have the opportunity to work on multi-disciplinary projects, using your skills in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
  • You will act as a project manager, ensuring that project outputs meet agreed goals.
  • You will develop project plans and strategies for major projects, identifying business resource requirements.
  • You will prepare strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments, and other planning documentation and submissions.
  • You will undertake technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the team.
  • You will lead the preparation of tender documentation.
  • You will foster client relationships and identify business opportunities.
  • You will grow, develop, and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design.
  • Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning.
  • Self-motivation and self-direction.
  • A strong interest in working on a variety of projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
  • The drive and passion to solve problems and produce innovative solutions.
