About the Role

Laing O'Rourke Rail Operations- Signalling (NSW) is expanding its operations and seeking skilled Rail Signalling Electricians to fill key positions.

We are currently undertaking significant works across Sydney and surrounding areas, including the Digital Systems project, Sydney Trains MSA projects, TAP Station Upgrade project, and the More Trains More Services MTMS Stage 3 project. Additionally, we provide specialized regional track support and installation services.

Multiple positions for Rail Signalling Electrician personnel are available based out of our Seven Hills Depot. You will be required to work across various Sydney sites, implementing Signalling works for activities in the rail corridor. There may be opportunities to travel to regional areas as needed.

To be successful, you should ideally possess the following:

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
  • Construction industry white card
  • Rail Industry Worker Card (RIW), with the following qualifications
  • Licenced Sydney Trains Signal Electrician
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Certificate of Competency on both Sydney Trains and ARTC networks as a signal electrician
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including Rail CAT Specific medical & drug and alcohol screening
  • Availability to cover weekends based on project requirements

  • Able to work weekends and night shifts when required
  • Follow Laing O'Rourke Next Gear Safety Principles
  • Will to undertake additional training as needed
  • Solid experience working effectively in a team-based environment
  • Ability to adapt to change in a work environment
  • Willingness to learn and embrace new ideas
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Practical experience in risk assessment of activities and tasks
  • Will to mentor and train new team members joining the project team
  • Ability to compile Signalling packages for specific project works
