Job Title

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Bitumen Tanker Maintenance Technician.

This hands-on role involves working with specialized equipment essential for road construction operations. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing bitumen tankers to ensure safe, efficient operation in compliance with industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections, diagnose mechanical faults, and perform preventative maintenance on tank systems, including burners, pumps, valves, and hydraulic components.
  • Maintain heating systems that keep bitumen at optimal temperature during transport and unloading.
  • Perform welding and fabrication repairs, monitor and calibrate temperature and pressure controls, and ensure all work adheres to safety, environmental, and transport compliance standards.
About You
  • Mechanical and hydraulic system knowledge
  • Experience with burner systems and pipework
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Understanding of hazardous materials handling (especially hot bitumen)
  • Strong safety awareness and personal protective equipment compliance
Key Requirements
  • Routine maintenance of bitumen tanks and related equipment (valves, burners, pumps, hoses)
  • Inspecting and repairing heating systems, such as diesel burners or LPG systems
  • Servicing hydraulic systems used for loading/unloading bitumen
  • Checking insulation and tank integrity to prevent heat loss or leaks
  • Cleaning and flushing tanks to remove buildup or contamination
  • Testing and calibrating gauges and sensors (temperature, pressure, level)
  • Performing welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs as needed
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, considering the hazardous nature of bitumen
