We are seeking a highly skilled Bitumen Tanker Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to work with specialized equipment essential to road construction operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing bitumen tankers, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance standards.
Main Responsibilities:- Maintaining and repairing bitumen tankers, including burners, pumps, valves, and hydraulic components.
- Conducting routine inspections and diagnosing mechanical faults.
- Performing preventative maintenance on tank systems.
- Maintaining the integrity of heating systems that keep bitumen at optimal temperature during transport and unloading.
- Carrying out welding and fabrication repairs.
- Monitoring and calibrating temperature and pressure controls.
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic system knowledge.
- Experience with burner systems and pipework.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Understanding of hazardous materials handling (especially hot bitumen).
- Strong safety awareness and PPE compliance.
