Automation Engineer Job Description

As an Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge automation systems. These systems will be used in various industries, such as food and beverage production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the automation lifecycle: Design, develop, implement, and test automation systems from electrical integration through to software deployment and commissioning.
  • Solve complex challenges: Use your problem-solving skills and technical expertise to troubleshoot automation issues, working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver timely solutions.
  • Collaborate across teams: Work with design and project engineers, fitters, service technicians, and stakeholders to ensure systems are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure quality and safety: Maintain clear, accurate technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement to meet relevant standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering and 5+ years' experience in automation projects.
  • Experience delivering automation projects in a packaging or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven skills in PLC/HMI development and programming.
  • Programming for Rockwell and ABB is essential.
  • Solid understanding of control systems, software, electrical schematics, and safety integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
