Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist with expertise in industrial automation and PLC programming to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and modifying complex PLC systems (Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix) and specific knowledge of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs).

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional looking to work on high-profile projects and contribute to the delivery of safe and efficient operations.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving faults in PLC-controlled TBM systems and updating software and hardware as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and resolve faults in PLC-controlled TBM systems and update software and hardware as needed.
  • Maintain and repair PLC and electrical systems for auxiliary equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and calibrate electrical components and instrumentation across various systems.
  • Ensure all work meets quality and compliance standards, following safety regulations and performing LOTO procedures.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and PLC changes, and prepare technical performance reports.

Our ideal candidate will possess trade qualifications as an Electrician with relevant post-trade qualifications in PLC programming and industrial automation or equivalent Engineering qualification.

Requirements
  • Trade qualification as an Electrician with relevant post-trade qualifications in PLC programming and industrial automation or equivalent Engineering qualification.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and modifying complex PLC systems (Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix).
  • Specific knowledge of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) and their operation.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
