Meat Department Leader

About this role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Meat Department Leader to join our team at Drakes Supermarkets.
As a Meat Department Leader, you will be responsible for managing a small team, creating rosters, generating orders, and completing stock takes.
You will work closely with the Store Manager to achieve sales targets and provide exceptional customer service.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a small team of butchers and sales assistants
- Create and manage rosters to ensure adequate staffing levels
- Generate orders for meat and other products
- Conduct regular stock takes to ensure accurate inventory levels
- Work closely with the Store Manager to achieve sales targets
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve any customer complaints
Requirements:
- Australian trade qualification in Butchery
- Fresh food retail knowledge
- Ability to lead and manage a team
- Ability to order and control costs
- An excellent understanding of gross profit calculations
- Accurate team rostering
- Passion and enthusiasm for delivering exceptional customer service
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to liaise with team members and management
- A flair for merchandising
- Strong leadership and delegation skills
- Ability to coach, train, and performance manage teams
- Commitment to work health and safety standards
