About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with a specialization in mental health inpatient care to join our team at CollarCare.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Comprehensive Nursing Care: Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for mental health inpatients, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  2. Monitor and Manage Patient Behavior: Provide therapeutic interventions and support to patients experiencing mental health issues, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  3. Collaborate with the Mental Health Team: Work closely with the mental health team to develop and execute individualized care plans, ensuring seamless care delivery.
  4. Administer Medications and Treatments: Accurately administer medications and treatments as prescribed, documenting patient progress and any changes in their condition.
  5. Ensure a Safe and Supportive Environment: Address any immediate concerns or crises, ensuring the well-being and safety of patients.
  6. Educate Patients and Families: Provide education and support to patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options, promoting informed decision-making.

Requirements:

  1. Experience or Qualification in Mental Health Inpatient Care: Possess experience or a qualification in mental health inpatient care, with a strong understanding of mental health disorders and therapeutic techniques.
  2. Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients experiencing a range of mental health issues.
  3. Compassionate and Empathetic Approach: Possess a compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, with the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and sensitivity.
  4. AHPRA Registration and National Police Check: Hold current AHPRA registration and a national police check, with up-to-date immunization history and any additional mandatory trainings.
