About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with a specialization in mental health inpatient care to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with mental health patients in an inpatient setting and a strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to mental health inpatients, including assessment, planning, and implementation of care.
  • Monitor and manage patient behavior, providing therapeutic interventions and support.
  • Collaborate with the mental health team to develop and execute individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and document patient progress accurately.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients, addressing any immediate concerns or crises.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
Requirements
  • Experience or qualification in mental health inpatient care.
  • Strong understanding of mental health disorders, therapeutic techniques, and patient management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients experiencing a range of mental health issues.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  • Strong observational and assessment skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and sensitivity.
  • AHPRA Registration (must be current)
  • National Police Check
