Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate mental health inpatient care specialist to join our team at Collarcare. The ideal candidate will have experience working with mental health patients in an inpatient setting and a strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatments.
About The Role:
We have multiple contracts available across various healthcare settings in Queensland, ranging from 4-12 weeks with potential to extend. Duties for this contract include:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care to mental health inpatients, including assessment, planning, and implementation of care.
- Monitoring and managing patient behavior, providing therapeutic interventions and support.
- Collaborating with the mental health team to develop and execute individualized care plans.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed, and documenting patient progress accurately.
- Ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients, addressing any immediate concerns or crises.
- Educating patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
Key Requirements:
- Experience or qualification in mental health inpatient care.
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders, therapeutic techniques, and patient management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with patients experiencing a range of mental health issues.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Strong observational and assessment skills.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and sensitivity.
- AHPRA Registration (must be current).
- National Police Check.
- Immunisation History.
- Additional Mandatory Trainings.
