Senior Financial Operations Manager

The role of a Senior Project Accountant is to provide strategic financial management and accounting expertise for projects within the organisation. This includes preparing and managing project budgets, forecasting and financial reporting, as well as providing advice on financial matters to project teams.
- Develop and manage project financial plans, including forecasting and cost control.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to project teams, including variance reports and cash flow forecasts.
- Assist in the preparation of project financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Collaborate with project managers to identify financial risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate or exploit them.
Main Responsibilities:
- Client facing finance focal for the contract; escalating issues and working closely with clients.
- Ensure timely delivery of client and internal management reports/dashboard and analysis.
- Ensure accurate completion of various month end deliverables.
- Working closely with project controls to ensure budget and forecasting activities are completed timely and analysed.
- Provide financial guidance on project performance to assist senior management in decision making.
- Provide detailed analysis and commentary to monthly results.
- Ensure revenue recognition aligns with company policy and accounting standards.
- Regularly review and update accruals as required.
- Accounting degree and certified public accountant (CPA) or chartered accountant (CA) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
- Oil & Gas/Construction project accounting experience essential.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience working with enterprise business architecture (EBA) advantageous.
- Able to demonstrate team working skills.
- Enthusiastic, diligent and keen to learn.
- Flexible with a proactive attitude.
- A good business partner for operational divisions.
- Proficient in process reviews, change management and process integration.
