Working as part of a dynamic team embedded within System Operations will give you a unique operational lens on protection engineering. Your work will contribute directly to our Decarbonising the Grid 2035 strategy, supporting the integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) and the protection design of microgrids—key enablers of a flexible, resilient, and low-carbon energy future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Operational Support: Develop and maintain protection schemes to guarantee safe and efficient power delivery. Conduct operational protection checks and prepare Substation Protection Datasheets.
- Technical Leadership: Provide expert advice to internal teams and external stakeholders. Lead technical investigations and assess equipment failures to ensure robust protection system performance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Standards: Coordinate protection schemes with external partners and evaluate generator connections. Contribute to the evolution of internal protection standards aligned with industry and regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Protection Planning: Manage protection settings in line with ISO Support network planning projects with innovative, cost-effective protection solutions that enable DER integration and microgrid resilience.
- Safety & Culture Champion: Mentor peers, uphold Endeavour Energy's values, and actively contribute to a strong safety culture and the strategic direction of the System Operations branch.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- C Class Vehicle Licence (up to 4.5 tonnes GVM)
