About the Role

Nous Group is a leading international management consultancy with a strong commitment to creating positive social impact. We are seeking an experienced Community Engagement Advisor to join our team in Australia.

As a Community Engagement Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our projects are delivered in a culturally safe and responsive manner. This will involve working closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, stakeholders, and project teams to design and implement effective engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement culturally safe engagement strategies for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Support project teams to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities
  • Review deliverables for cultural nuance and safety
  • Develop networks and mobilise community engagement for projects
  • Lead and/or support consultation activities, including interviews, focus groups, workshops, and forums
  • Listen to and help manage community feedback (i.e., risk mitigation and public relations)
  • Review and contribute to proposals and project deliverables, to ensure cultural nuance and safety
  • Support Nousers to build cultural competence through work on project teams and other activities
Requirements
  • An Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
  • Self-directed, with a strong ability to work autonomously
  • A collaborator, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A fast mover, comfortable with ambiguity and fluid structural arrangements
  • Prior experience in a diverse professional setting, including with not-for-profits and/or Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations
  • A deep understanding and cultural connection to the NT
  • Experience with facilitation and consultation activities
