The role of a Senior Claims Manager involves managing member claims and investigations, facilitating information flow to other departments, contributing to the provision of claims services, and providing guidance and technical support to staff.
This is an opportunity for a qualified professional to join our team in Sydney on a fixed-term contract with potential for permanency.
Responsibilities- Manage member claims and investigations according to relevant protocols and guidelines.
- Facilitate the free flow of information to other departments.
- Contribute to national process improvements and change initiatives.
- Provide technical support and guidance to staff in optimising claim outcomes.
- As directed, educate members, staff, and external bodies on medico-legal and clinical risk matters.
- Tertiary qualifications in law or health.
- 5+ years' experience in medical negligence law, either in private practice or insurance environment.
- Senior claims management experience in a medical indemnity environment is favourable.
- Advanced understanding of medical indemnity law and insurance principles.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to drive business goals.
- Strong people leadership skills.
- Demonstrated insurance and health law knowledge.
- Relationship building skills and excellent communication skills.
