Claims Expertise Opportunity

A distinguished Claims team seeks an accomplished individual to handle major loss claims with precision and skill. We strive for exceptional technical excellence, delivering a comprehensive global claims handling experience.

The Financial Lines Claims team excels in technical leadership across Financial Lines, particularly in D & O. Our bespoke services cater to insureds and brokers in all types of Financial Lines claims.

You will oversee a portfolio of AIG's largest claims, including professional indemnity, D&O and management liability claims, in accordance with Proactive Claims Management guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing Major Loss claims handling enquiry, coverage determination, quantum analysis and legal liability assessment.
  • Developing and evaluating investigation strategies to identify critical issues affecting liability, causation and damages.
  • Ensuring effective vendor and litigation management on Major Loss claims within a personal allocation.
  • Reporting key claims messages to Senior Claims Management.
  • Enhancing internal/external stakeholder communication as Financial Lines technical claims expert and thought leader.
  • Delivery of technical training to colleagues as appropriate.
  • Representing AIG Financial Lines claims expertise on external technical panels and/or industry forums.
  • Financial control through consistent reserve and other financial transaction discipline.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Effective time management - ability to manage and prioritize workload and diary management.
  • Proven stakeholder management experience, both internal (underwriting, distribution) and external (brokers, major account clients).
  • Policy language skills enabling accurate policy wording interpretation and excellent knowledge of legal/regulatory and litigation/procedural requirements.
  • Ability to manage claims outside local jurisdiction where appropriate.
